1. Teacher (warning her pupils against catching a cold) "I had a little brother seven years old, and one day he took his new sled out in the snow.
He caught pneumonia, and three days later he died."
There was silence in the room for almost five minutes, Then came a voice from the rear,
"Where's his sled?"
2. Grade one was having a lesson on birds. After some discussion the fact was established that birds eat fruit.
One little girl, however, was not convinced.
"But , teacher," she asked , raising her hand, "how can the birds open the cans?"
3. Albert came home from school with a new book under his arm. "It's a prize, Mother, he said. "A prize? What for, dear?"
"For natural history. Teacher asked me how many legs an ostrich had and I said three."
"But, an ostrich has two legs." "I know that now, Mother, but the rest of the class said four; so I was the nearest."

All good but #1 is my favorite. The kid gets right to the point and good for him.

All three are good, thanks David. Like John B., I like #1 the best.
