It is a shame that better quality living conditions arent available to these truck drivers; especially given the grueling schedule and sedentary life style inherent in their daily routines, plus given the huge rigs they are operating on our crowded highways. You would think that ideally truck stops equipped with quality food availability, well maintained shower and washroom facilities and even (in a perfect world) a small gym to facilitate a light work out would have been created many years ago via lobbying by their union. Perhaps I am a bit naive on the subject but you would think that over the years the movers and shakers in the trucking industry would have seen the value of full service truck stops, at least at the major stops.
