A neat shot, Galen55. My first thought is it must be AI, though AI doesn't do text very well, so it would require a bit of Photoshop to achieve that result. The giveaway is how close the fuel pump is to the front door and, if they offer 'grease' as well as oil and gas, they would need a service bay.
Yep, simpler times, simpler era. This would make for a great diorama. I would opt to move the whole thing back further from the road; and the gas pump further from the building, as GDH points out.

Maybe the “grease” they advertise is their sausage breakfast platter 😂
My first thought was he is out of luck. No attendant and no gas. He is wondering how far to the next town.
