Well said..but I think KUVAKAS is funnier !!!
I always loved his dry sense of humor. He lived a good, very long life.
I get the point of the song
It made me incredibly sad at first. But once I thought about it, I realized--I don't want to be eighteen again!
Let me explain.
I'm reasonably certain my memories and reminiscings are much better than those times really were. If I want to be honest with myself, yes, those times were adventurous. But they were also awkward, doubtful, frequently confusing and, even more regularly, lacking anything resembling wisdom and common sense. Can anyone relate?
We've all had rich lives. We've lived and learned. I'd much rather spend the time I have left enjoying myself and sharing with those younger than me the things I've learned through the trials and joys of being alive for the last sixty-eight years. I don't want to go through it all again

I agree with your preferred focus at this point John and agree that our youthful memories are MOSTLY of the positive, funny, exciting times. There were many sad, frustrating and painful bumps in the road of course and I definitely wouldn't want to revisit those. So I am happy to apply my "filters" on the past and focus on the positives, understand and set free the negatives and live life trying to contribute positively. Having said all that, I would appreciate a couple more decades please Lord; you know...to make amends and get it right! Make that three decades if you would....it may take more time! Lol.
say goodnight to the folks Gracie!
Well said John and Jack. Soon to be eighty and enjoying life like I never did when I was young. Today I'm appreciative for my blessings and no longer take them for granted.
Agrred as I am a member of your 1940 club
Brought a tear to my eye. Maybe because it reminded me of where I am in my life.
Respectful suggestion: Maybe its time to grab life and "wind it through the gears" Frank.
I also liked his humor...
Beautifuly put, John. Listen to Alice Coopers Eighteen for a touch of reality.
You're right, Bruce. This says it all

Cut it out and don't ask me again Gracie...............
I told you before - "it's, now like playing pool with a rope".
Exactly the plan, Jack. Been working on it for over a year. Finally convinced Cathy to downsize.
