That first shot is a Marlin that looks more like a sailfish. (Far bigger dorsal fin). Not a big fan of skirts on most cars, this one seems to have the equivalent on BOTH wheel opening areas! I can favorably see the second photo redefined as a two door; shortened appropriately, and with open front wheel well.
It certainly is an interesting automobile ! I'd bet with a few tweaks it would improve even more and it does recall the time when fastbacks were very popular with several manufacturers. This is a quick photo-shop showing perhaps a 2-door coupe with open front wheels.

Mike, I had the same idea as you, except I opened up the rear wheels as well, and shortened the roof. Fun to do, but I guess we are betraying the Nash heritage!
