Yep. That's exactly what she be. The left portion attaches just below and in back of the seat and the two strips, with dual mounting holes, going down, attach to the wheel hub....a vintage bicycle rear "luggage" rack.
@perrone1 I've custom fit one on every bicycle I've ever owned, even full-suspension mountain bikes. There's only one left to do - I'm lazy, but I'll get around to it. You just gotta have a luggage rack! 😏 😏
Chris, I gotta believe it's used for more than just carrying luggage...short trips to the supermarket?@perrone1 I've custom fit one on every bicycle I've ever owned, even full-suspension mountain bikes. For sure John. "Luggage rack" is just a generic term. In fact, most modern versions have a mousetrap like, spring-loaded arm (hard to see in my pics ) that's really kind of useless. I always have bungee cords & tote bags "on board" whenever I head out. 😉
@perrone1 Tony, I'm guessing it's been that long since I was on my recumbent trike. I'm thinking the health value of the vehicle is in the use rather than just looking at it.
@bob-jackman I dunno Bob; there's a certain amount of mental well being in sitting in your man cave recliner with the duct taped armrests, sipping a beer and knowing when you look over at your fancy bike that you could ride that thing like the wind (or a faint breeze) anytime you felt like it......maybe tomorrow....or the next day.
