Oh man John, you've done it again. WOW - OK, love them both; but for different reasons and on different facets of car and its design.

Let's see, from the bottom, up: Wire wheels - tie. Body styling - I like the color breaks of the Buick. Front end - New Yorker. Rear end - Buick. Overall - by a half fraction.....the Buick.

To me the Buick is big and bulky, while the Chrysler is streamlined.  So my pick today is the Chrysler.

I always liked the 1956 Buick. It wins although I like both. It's the Chrysler's bumper that knocks it out of top spot.

To my eyes, the CHRYSLER is less bulbous looking and much more modern in appearance.  But either would be great in my driveway.

Excellent comparison choices yet again John!  The Chrysler styling makes the Buick look a bit bulky and dated.  This one is very close; my nod goes to Chrysler but just by a *blunted dagmar.  I much prefer the 1955 versions of both these cars; in particular the Buick nose treatment and the Chrysler nose and tail end.

Buick. I like both but the 56  Buick has always been a favorite of mine. If the choice was the 55s, The Chrysler would be my choice.

I’ll take that sleek Chrysler over that bulky looking Buick, thank you John.

@bob-jackman Bob; I have always preferred the trimmer looking Buick Century over the Roadmaster.

A ‘55 Buick special 2 dr ht was my first car, so I’m a little biased, but I have to admit that the MoPar is way cool!

Always thought the portholes looked silly, dislike the bumperettes [bullets] like a lot of GM cars overdid ['56 Caddy for example], always disliked side trim that dove down and then back up over the rear wheel.  Basic reasons I generally dislike Buicks.

Chrysler is much cleaner and I just like it's looks.

@jack-dodds  Well, we can't always agree on everything. To me the Super and Roadmaster bodies just looked better balanced. Given the two you pictured, I would love either in my garage. In college a friend had a 55 Century hardtop in black/white with a red interior and it was a beautiful car.

@bob-jackman When I was a young teen a local mechanic friend about 5 years older than me had an all white '55 Special 2drht. (same as pic below), which was a rare color in my area.  The car was around ten years old at the time but it was mint and I loved it.  The '55 is my favorite Buick of that decade.  Sadly he drove the hell out of it.....same familiar story...lol.

I think that color would be rare anywhere, and sooo cool. Mine was this combo.

Not my actual car, I have no pics of it.
