So close to a tie, but the Chrysler edged out a win. I love its angles better than the Buick's curves.

Thanks John 👍 Once again no contest for me…that absolutely beautifully styled Chrysler. The ‘65-66 are two of my favorites.

I think both choices are very nice but being a GM man I’m going for the GS, dual four barrel ‘Super Wildcat’ option. (Truth be told though, in ‘66 I would have bought a GTO, even though at 14 I didn’t have a license or money.)

Whoa; great comparo John! Size-wise, especially, neither one causes me heart palpitations. But I get a tiny flutter from the Wildcat. Buick for the win.

Chrysler. My next favorite Chrysler after fin years.  People down the road had one. To me it seemed like it floated up the road.  The Buick looks large and in charge though.

I voted a tie, both are beautiful behemoths. I can't say I like one over the other. I love both.💯😁

Not really fond of either, '66 up I was a mid-size car lover. But, I do prefer the Chrysler every year but '60.

'66 I bought:

5 66 Coronet 440 1967 (2)
5 66 Coronet 440 1967 (3)

Yes, it was GREEN.

My second choice would have been the '66 GTO

The Wildcat lives up to it's name. The Chrysler is terrific but the Buick is all business with it's torque.

Wow John, this one is as close to a tie for me as it gets.  I give the nod to the Chrysler by a hair.  I like the roof line, chrome trim and dash design just a bit more than the beautiful Buick.

Buick.  I love the flared lower body line, inspired by the '63-65 Riviera.  If this was 1965, I'd have to vote a tie.  The Chrysler had the glass headlight covers, and the New Yorker had the clear taillights that blended into the rear chrome panel.  Buick?  I just like it a little more than the '66.

1965 Chrysler New Yorker1
1965 Chrysler 300 conv1
1965 buick wildcat std
1965 buick wildcat 2

Wow! I voted for the Buick. But if I had waited to read all these great responses, I might have been persuaded to vote for a tie.

Mom had a 65 Newport which was supposed to be my car, until my brother wrecked it one night.  It was great with it's big 383, it would move.

  • I prefer the Buick, never really like Chryslers that much.  Did like the 66 Dodge and Plymouth.
