Now, it's no longer his burden to bear.

The gang’s all here, I loved Popeye and once had a shirt with his image and underneath said “I yam what I yam!”

I would never have imagined that my posting that it was Popeye's birthday, would be such an enduring thread.  He had quite the impact on all of us kids.  And so did all the cartoons of the 50's and 60's.  There were so many!  Huckleberry Hound, Snagglepuss, Mr. Jinx and Pixie & Dixie, Quick Draw McGraw and Babb-Louie, Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo, Snooper and Blabber, Felix the Cat, Casper the Friendly Ghost (with his pals Spooky and Wendy the good little witch), Woody Woodpecker, Chilly-Willy, Baby Huey, Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, and the list can just go on and on.  Today's kids will never realize what they missed.

As I said the list goes on and on.  Augie Doggie and Daddy Doggie were two of my personal favorites.
