@georgeschire "OMG!  Could a '61 car look any more put together "One Piece At A Time" than his '61 Meteor Montcalm?  I've never been a fan of the '61 Ford styling, but after seeing this nightmare offered by Canadian dealers, the Ford is beautiful. "

George: don't be too hasty now; this diamond in the rough is for sale!  It just needs a smidge of TLC and voila.....you could be the talk of the car show circuit!  Only 435 convertibles were built!  Dare to be different........snap it up before you miss out!

@georgeschire Well George....I think I can speak for my fellow Canuck/Forumite David Green when I say we are surprised to find that you can't see the well disguised beauty in our Canadianized '61 Ford, aka Meteor.  Wink

Here they are 1949 thru '63.........

The Meteor was produced on the full size Ford chassis from 1949 thru '61 then changed to mid size for '62-'63 before becoming a cheaper line of the Mercury.

George.....I do have to agree that the '61 is the most radical departure from the standard Ford design of all the Meteor years, '49 thru '61.  I must say though that I actually liked all of them; each to his own as you say!  Lol.  I had a '59 2dr. back in the day.

I like Mercury version of the Meteor.  My Dad built a model of the Meteor that I still enjoy looking at. I used to think it was the Mercury version of the Fairlane.

@grockwood I guess it basically is built on the '62/'63 Fairlane chassis, now that you mention it....but it gets a bit confusing when you throw in the Mercury Comet of this era.
