I have never had fried bologna...but one time at music camp, they served barbecued bologna spread. It was not good.

...........just the word "spread" makes me highly suspicious Paul Shut Mouth ......as does music camp.........but for a couple years I attended a sort of summer daycamp for which I carried a fried bologna sandwich in a paper sack for each and every lunch

...............when,as a child, your schedule criteria evolves around any type of "camp", some form of bologna will likely be involved

I've been in a few states that had Bar & Grills  offering fried bologna sandwiches.  Fired salami is also fantastic; it can be cooked up just like thin, crispy bacon! 🙂 👍

Hmmm…this made me think that I need another “training” event (like the snow removal topic), but this time for geriatric shopping/cooking…well, off to the drawing board. 👍🏻

Bar S is sold regularly at our local Kroger store. Their smoked ham and honey ham, are as good as the higher priced brands.

And, here in the south, a lot of Mom & Pop cafe's in smaller towns, serving breakfast and lunch, feature fried baloney sandwiches. And BBQ baloney is also a staple. Never heard of baloney spread. Of course liverwurst (Braunschweiger) is a form of pate spread.

I'd have to try BBQ baloney, but I have my doubts....baloney spread, on other hand, I've had, and I like it despite being the polar opposite of health food. 🙄 🙄

Chris, it usually starts out as the BIG bologna grocery stores sell in the meat department. Then after the seasonings and/or rub is applied, it can be smoked or cooked normally on the grille; slathered regularly with one's favorite sauce:

Holy smoke!  😬 😬

The fact that I (ME... the guy who can out-eat anyone!! ) have never seen or heard of this before is like George Barris not knowing that his Batmobile  was once a Lincoln. Thank you Tony. I'm going to pass this on to some other "foodies"  I know to see if they've heard of this.

It does look amazing...   😛 😛

@jkuvakas OH YEAH!!  I COMPLETELY forgot about that and remarked then, that I'd never heard of this.  Thanks John!

Never heard of baloney spread.

Baloney spread was the, um, "chef"'s own creation. His "creativity" inspired me to make my own lunch menu mocking him. I don't remember the whole thing, but the highlight was Cream of Breakfast Soup.

...Oh, and Corn with Elephant Eyes. Not only was it music camp, it was also MUSICAL camp.
