Many years ago, Joe Kelly Jr. had "The Car Room" magazine, and along with a few other publications, was a regular source of information and pictures about the hobby. I still have my old copies and the information and photography contained within were excellent.

what a fantastic resource, shame it is not still around. Thanks Mike. From memory I think Joe also made videos of new release models?

Yep, Geoff, he had the ear of several diecast car designers and companies. I met him and some other notables of the hobby at a diecast get-together near Chicago a number of years ago. His video presentations introduced and/or reviewed automobile models in the hobby.

I watched Joe’s videos as often as I could. He had a tremendous collection and I remember a roadrace set that dropped down from the ceiling to save on space.

I remember Joe's videos and his reviews. He certainly knew cars and his reviews were very thorough. If I'm not mistaken Joe was musician.

Yes, Joe was with an Eagles tribute band, I recall. His diecast car videos were certainly well produced.

IMO, Joe Kelly Jr's Car Room YouTube  in-depth videos were among the very best diecast model review presentations ever shared on social media.   I would eagerly await every Saturday night for the next installment.     - almost 20 years ago now.      YIKES!  😬 😬 😬

Yes, that's right and a good point..... Joe always had very well produced videos and reviews. He had the ear of several manufacturers and, of course, a huge collection on display. He tended to be quite upbeat and any drawbacks he mentioned were usually done respectfully and as just a part of the diecast replica overall.
