A number of years ago I did a SFX image of one of my 1/18 Chevrolet Impala coupes for my young nieces, who were fans of the TV series "Supernatural". The car diecast model used was an Ertl Authentics 2-door Impala coupe, although in the series, the stars actually drove an older 1967 white 4-door Chevrolet.
Later, I believe Greenlight did a fine 1/18 version of the white 4-door from the series, but this was already on my shelf ! Except for the 2 gentlemen standing behind the Impala and the guy up in the bell tower, all the photographs used in this image were taken here in Riverside, IL. The Chevrolet had a big and powerful V-8 engine, and it appears the guys may need that 8-cylinder zip to escape any possible issues, lol !
"....although in the series, the stars actually drove an older 1967 white 4-door Chevrolet."
It's a fine image Mike, but....
1) The Supernatural series car was a black 1967 Impala 4-dr hardtop sedan.
2) Greenlight produced 1/18 sealed versions of it, with & without figures.
3) Greenlight also released - because they could - a "stock" white version with Impala wheelcovers, whitewalls, side trim, etc.
4) Your Authentics 1967 Chevy is not an Impala; it's known as an "SS." The word "Impala" does not appear anywhere on that model. You'll notice the script is absent on the grill and the trunk.
5) It's a little-known fact but in 1967 Chevrolet produced Impala SS cars - available with any engine expect the 427 - when a 427 was ordered, the Impala name was dropped, and the car was simply known as the "SS 427."
- Strange, right? 😮 🤔 🤨
On the subject of the show "Supernatural", the last episode of season five was about Dean looking for his brother. He went to a modern prophet who told him he needed to go to one of the gates of Hell. He told him it was located at Stull, Kansas. Stull is a real place that I have been to many times. The highway from Lawrence to Topeka runs through it. It has an old cemetery that has a shell of a chapel with a painted black upside down cross on the wall. The story amongst KU students is if you go there Halloween night, there will be a demon in the tree, who can tell your future. The city has torn down the chapel and put a six feet fence around the cemetery to stop the vandalism. The original name of Stull was Deer run. The town renamed it after a beloved Post Master Stull. I try to avoid Stull on Halloween, just in case.
A very interesting place and legend surrounding it ! I will definitely mention the story about this locale to my nieces.
