Here is a picture my Dad took at the Chicago Automobile Show at the International Amphitheater in January, 1959. It shows a Mack truck on display with a platform and stairways installed for visitors to view the vehicle.

It is a true giant and a 1/18 size replica would call for a new addition to one's house ! Even a 1/64 scale model might involve a reinforced display shelf.

In any case, this monster apparently has a supercharged engine and a separate special stone-guard shield in front of the radiator grille. Going through the drive-in would involve sending a special delegation to place the order at the microphone or window !

It certainly would be an impressive replica to display ......

thanks Mike, whenever I see something of that size, and there aren't too many, I freak out at the thought of being behind the wheel!

More super neat stuff! Wouldn't cameras all around that monster have been useful in driving it?

...apparently MACK promoted their larger trucks often to "cemet"  their reputation - "As big as a Mack truck!"

MACK 2
MACK 3
MACK 1

Another wonderful piece of history through the cameras eye. I'll have to pass buying this monster as it wouldn't fit in my driveway....heck, it wouldn't fit on my street.

@jack-dodds There are YT vids  that outline the procedure; it requires more than 20 minutes.  😀
