These are print advertisements that were/are in various National Geographic magazines. Studebaker automobiles were great-looking cars/spaceships from that era. I would be delighted with any replica (or the real thing) from that late-'40's-early-50's time.

Yeah, I do like "old stuff", especially photographs and similar items along those lines. It can also be known by some as "junk". That's probably why my college degrees are in history ..... the study of older things and events of the past, lol !

really interesting comparison with the earlier post Mike. Note how Studebaker do not really go 'over the top' ie babies selling Fords, with their advertising copy and graphics. Just pretty straight forward practical copy. Yet some of the car design, certainly the 1950, could well be considered a little 'over the top'

Like the other responders, I love all this stuff, thanks for continuing to post them.

Memories of a 1951 Maui Blue Commander Starlight Coupe.  My Dad had a 1951 Maui Blue Commander Starlight Coupe and I was 3-4 years old and only have one memory riding in it once.  At the time Mom drove some type of early 50s 2-door Chrysler & I was in the backseat (standing Up) when that car got totaled just sitting at a stoplight.  About the same time, Air Force Dad, had the Studebaker, driving to work, door popped opened and he fell out.  Not too badly injured but that is when it was found he had some sort of cancer.  All this happened, perhaps early 1955.  That was why Dad bought a new 1955 Olds '98' 2-door hardtop & Moms 1955 Olds '98' Starfire convertible, matching colors.  We were stationed in California at the time but they sent Dad to Walter Reed for surgery & sent our family to be there with him. This was later 1955, but I remember being at Walter Reed, security was tight, President Eisenhower was there following his 1955 heart attack.  Good news Dad stayed in the the Air Force until the mid 1960s when he retired as a "lifer" & he didn't pass until 1995.  So his falling out of a  1951 Maui Blue Commander Starlight Coupe saved his life.

DM offered the 1951 Maui Blue Commander Starlight Coupe as a "members only" limited edition, and I was not a member even though I was purchasing new models almost monthly.  I called DM, told them about my Dad and what the 1951 Studebaker in Maui Blue meant to me, they sent me a perfect diecast model.  I was told it was the last one they had in stock but they inspected it to make sure it was a perfect model.  I will always be grateful for DM customer service.
