Hi Guys

Having lots of PM Lincoln parts and several times showed pics of the models that Nestor S built. It is time maybe to build one myself. But I do have a question, is anybody familiar of the colors of the Lincolns that race in the Mexican Road Race? I always assume they were factory colors, but most of the pics of models of the cars do not look correct. Really not that particular but would like to get the colors relatively close. I did have a set of 53 Lincoln color chips, but are long gone. Foiling the trim is also a snag, but will worry about that later. No. 141 and No. 69 cars? Any thoughts/comments?

Thanks

JD

These pics are "authentic colors."  I'm sure there were others, but I've noticed several online '52-'54 Lincoln color pics taken from current or "re-creation"  races, therefore, their "auntenticity"  is suspect.

Hi Jack : The road-race Lincolns will look superb in any case for sure as it is a great subject !!

One has to be a bit careful in "actual" colors as one may be viewing:

(1) Old color photographs that may have color-shifted over time

(2) It may be on old color film stock, like Kodachrome, Ektachrome, Anasachrome, Agfachrome, etc, etc. which have different color sensitivities.

(3) Human eyes are different and the conditions they are being viewed under are variable,

(4) If it is with a computer monitor, they are different and may be set to varying standards ........ or none at all.

(5) The paint being used and the model/material it is being applied to is almost certainly not the same as the original.

(6) If it looks ok and good to you, regardless of the sources used, then it is and enjoy it !
