As a kid, like most of you, I spent countless hours building model cars and purchased (well, my Mom did...) many from K-mart.  But I don't remember prices this low on Testor paint. Note the MSRP @ .19 cents. 😯  I do remember this model though.
That was a pretty advanced model back in those days when we were so young. I remember the Johan Chrysler turbine car and I had a great time putting it together and I'll tell you what I was damn good at putting it together and painting it even though it came in body colorÂ
I loved those modeling days and I'm still believe me at my age 70 I'm still doing the same thing as much as I can.Â
I don't have the workspace like I used to but I am still working on lots of models that I didn't sell and I will keep everyone posted here when they are available for pics.
As a teaser what I'm trying to do is take two of the Sun Star Lincoln convertibles and change them out.
My goal is to take the white convertible top down I want to take the turquoise convertible black top up and trade tops because I think the white convertible would look better with the black top upÂ
So this would make the turquoise convertible top down look better to me as I don't think that turquoise color looks good with the black convertible top up.
Sorry if this is confusing my talk-to-text feature on my phone sometimes messes up.

BTW, if I remember correctly Johan model parts fit together pretty dayum near perfectly.Â
And if you still have that brand new unbuilt model in the box I'm sure it has to be worth a small fortune
Up to that point the best 1/25 models were Revells. Everything opened with scale hinges. There was front wheel steering, ultra-thin chrome side trim, great wheels & tires, etc...
However, the 1/25 Jo-Han Chrysler Turbine model was in a class by itself. Not only did everything open but the detail was amazing. The model had rotating brake drums and a 3 piece tie-rod! One bucket seat had something like 8 pieces to it. By far the best 1/25 model kit I ever saw....still!
I remember being SUPER frustrated because I couldn't locate color photographs of the 1:1 car other than a few "glamour shots," but I needed detailed engine, interior, and chassis pics... 😬 😬Â

The Jo-han Cadillac was one of the very first kits I bought after my 60 year hiatus. 60 years of ignorance meant I thought it would be OK to buy at a nice cheap price with the engine and part chassis already assembled. I've learnt never to do that again. Chassis was incorrectly glued meaning the engine would not fit. Also I wasn't confident enough at the time to try painting a model. This is how it turned out. From my rather tepid effort we can see just what a fantastic kit it is, and just how good it could turn out if painted and assembled carefully and skillfully. And yes Steve if you can find one they aint cheap!
