I’ve been posting about how I was on a DM Cadillac buying binge for a couple of months. I’m not really sure why the models were not on my radar in the years I’ve been collecting as I’ve always been a fan of the older 1/1’s. Long story short, got my latest delivered today and I’m blown away! I’ve always been a “blue” person, and this shade is gorgeous in my mind’s eye! Funny thing about this particular model, I had the FM Capone car, and thought it was definitely impressive and cool, but just kind of morbid, enough so that I ended up selling it. I’ve only had this one a couple of hours and it’s already in the running to be in my favorite top five.

Congrats!!  Killer car model. Oops, sorry, that was the Capone car. A little side note that most of the period collectors knew: The Capone model has a gun port hole in the side windows. When we commissioned FM to do our LECC-III, the 1930 Cadillac V-16 Long Wheelbase Imperial Sedan, we had them fashion hole-less windows to replace the gun port glass.

FM used that opportunity to repaint and reissue the '30 Caddy in Blue and silver. Your DM '32 was a reissue of their black beauty. It looks fantastic!

It is a fantastic replica in all it's forms and the color here is quite good. Somehow a dignified ride for the Chicago mobster boss.

Supposedly, right after the Valentines Day massacre in the Clark St. garage rival gang leader Bugs Moran said : "Only Capone kills like that !"

Thanks Tony, in hindsight I probably should have kept Capone, it went well with Dillinger and Bonnie and Clyde, which I have. Unfortunately I have very little display space, limited retirement funds, and a wife. Therefore my collection is very, very small, and I try to keep it filled with models I really enjoy. I have kept it around 50 or so models, about as many as Jackman has in his medicine cabinet. Laugh

thats a stunner Kevin, congrats. My search goes on! Along with the color repaint DM changed the wheels and seats covering on this compared to the black one.

I bought this one some time ago as a “buy it now” deal so it was very reasonably priced. One of my favorites.

@david-vandermeer It’s a work of art, to be sure David, beautiful on the outside and the interior is as good as it gets!

An alternative color, I have another blue color sample, will have to pull it to see what is the difference with the production model.

@kevins Kevin, that little thing sure is cute. I have no idea how to shake this addiction but I understand that to shake any addiction you first have to admit you have it and secondly be willing to try. I admit I have the addiction but fall short on part two.
