For a $12 model, it's not bad... about 20+ years ago I made a few QUICK improvements, such as adding an antenna, replacing the thin whitewall tires with a period correct set, "adjusted" the vent windows (but still haven't added the glass ), made a proper spare, etc.
This Maisto Starliner Coupe really deserves "next level" detailing - which I may get around to - one day. 🙄 🙄
As long as the trunk space is correct, it's all good. LOL
I always found genius that that 1953 platform was used for over a decade ending with the GT Hawk which I thought was such an elegant design.
Just cannot argue with the nice models that Maisto, and even Bburago, put out for the expenditure. This Studie, in this color, with the light interior and your meaningful adjustments are just plain gorgeous!

RIGHT!
It is a wonderful Studebaker car and Maisto 1/18 diecast model of it. I am really happy to have this color Maisto, as well as blue and red versions of this one, too.
@chris The transformation made with a few new body panels was amazing. I remember my neighbor customizing his Golden Hawk replacing the trunk lid with a '53 from the local junkyard as well as a few more minor mods. 18 coats of Candy Apple Red later and I could have died to own that car. Oh yeah... the 283 got a Paxton supercharger to boot.
@rich-sufficool Yes! I remember your (those ) comments when I posted my friend's '53 - that I saw a few months back. 😎 😀
@marty-johnson That IS nice - I've never seen one up close before. Now you know why I've procrastinated, for 20+ years, to engage in "next level detailing." It would take many man-hours to bring my Maisto up to level of your Danbury Mint. 😞 😞 😞
Nice start Chris. The correct white wall width makes all the difference in making this model acceptable.
