I can't find anything on Chris Ostrich although his brother was a mid-western engine builder, but this 1968 Hemi Barracuda drag car with this purple ostrich skin finish and foil scripts is just outrageously cool. Kudos to H-61 for executing this ambitious livery. This is my favorite generation of the Barracuda and really looks mean with all the drag car accessories.

A fantastic model! A world-class 1/18 paint scheme and probably the best pics of this HW 61 Barracuda I've ever seen! Nicely done Rich.
PS
Marlowe probably knows something about this car, Chris & Chuck.
This looks excellent ! I have H61's standard version of this very cool Barracuda and it's also great.
@chris - Actually, I don't know much about the Chuck Ostrich Barracuda. I do remember it running back in the day, but my memory of Chuck Ostrich was mostly his privateer 1965 AWB effort. Since he wasn't part of the official factory-sponsored cars, he had his AWB built by Dick Branstner in Detroit. (Dick Branstner took over the building effort of the Little Red Wagon. Branstner, along with Jay Howell, built the mid-engine cars, the Dart Charger, which became the Polka Dart and the Don Garlits Dart, and the Cotton Picker. Jay Howell went on to build the Don Gay Infinity Funny Car along with some others.) That was a common practice for many of the AWB '65 Mopars. Once he moved over to the Super Stock class, which was the forerunner of Pro Stock, I didn't pay him much attention. However, the paint on the 1:1 and the H61 model are just fantastic!
Please study up. Some of this information will be on next week's exam. 🤣Â

HA! HA! You lost me after the first sentence! I had to read your post 3 times! Your vast knowledge of vintage racers & drag cars continues to impress, and those corresponding photos are an added bonus. Thanks for the follow-up.
And yeah, I ALSO noted that (IMO) incredible 1/18 paint scheme, probably HW 61's best efforts. 😎Â
