or rather an Alfetta (AKA: the Alfa Romeo Sprint Veloce). This small 5 passenger GT car was produced from 1974 to 1987 designed by Giorgetto Giugliaro. This AUTOart model marks the 2nd generation (1980) version of the Alfetta with the GTV package and larger 2.0 liter 4 cylinder (in this case, turbocharged) engine and larger 15" alloy wheels. Although still known as an Alfetta, that name was actually dropped and was officially called the Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 type 116.36. Styling changes included one piece tail lights, all the brightwork trim save for the triangle in the grill became matte black and front/rear dark plastic bumpers. There was also a race version with a SOHC 2.5 liter V6 released later in 1980.
Rich, it's a beautiful model but FANTASTIC pics, easily some of your best work. 😎
beautiful model...AA did a great job on these. I always liked the styling on these...cemented by its use in 007's Octopussy (though don't know if its the exact spec).
@gavin Octopussy used a GTV6, a later, more powerful version. I have it in 1:43rd by Minichamps (not 1:18) - sorry. That Autoart is a fantastic model! 😎
