Although the Cobra 427 SC became the iconic shape of Carroll Shelby's racing roadster with its flaired coke bottle body and aggressive nose, I kinda like the looks of the original AC body with its distinctive grill. Like the Sunbeam Tiger, this was one of the ultimate sleeper cars... a cute little roadster with an American V8 stuffed in it... in this first iteration, a modified Ford 260 cid. This is the Cobra you wanted to pull up to a stop light with... a wolf in sheep's clothing! It's all AC looking right down to the embossed "AC" foot pedals. The AC "ACE" became a snake.

I have always loved this version; like you say.....A great little sleeper.

I'm in on this one too. My all-time favorite.
Out of all the models I've sold, I kept the Exoto burgandy/gold one. I'll die with that one in my hands.

I love the looks of these early Cobras. The later 427s are awesome, of course, but I do love the smooth lines of these early "slab-side" cars.
