The Raymond Loewy designed "bullet nosed" Studebaker went all out 'aviation' themed with their 1950 to 1951 models and the result was wildly popular. The Commander was the most luxurious and had the longest wheel base of the "Starlight Coupes" and also offered a 233cid OHV V8 that was only offered in a Cadillac at the time.
Beyond the bullet nose was the wrap around rear class that totally eliminated the "C" pillar leaving the "B" pillar as the only rear structural element. The sloping deck was as long as its hood with the "Is it coming or going?" moniker. It would be more accentuated in the next generation when the bullet nose was replaced by a sloping low drag nose that almost duplicated the rear contours.
Looks great, Rich! I have Studebaker Starlight coupes in 1/18, 1/24, and 1/43. I love this body style.

Nice model.
@moe-parr Danbury Mint did a really nice coupe and convertible in 1/24.
That longer wheelbase really suited this car. Thanks for another great post Rich.
HWY61 did a fantastic model here !
Love the bullet nose and Starlight roof line. These are great models with the operating vent doors in the front fenders and the gas door lid. Your pictures are superb. I also have the Danbury mint 1/24 scale models of these great cars.
