This 1972 Pontiac Tempest Le Mans Sport convertible has every option available save for the GTO badge. With the 300hp (yeah, '72 was the beginning of the end) 455 HO Ram Air, T41 Endura front end, split side exhausts, Sport Trim with graphics, etc., this car checked every options box. 3500 of these convertibles were built that year, but who knows how many were optioned to the max like this car.

Great looking model. I always liked those honeycomb wheels.
Who made this one?Â
This one looks superb ! The paint issue is a shame, but perhaps it's limited to just the paint and something can be done.
@mikedetorrice Doing a decent repaint of the affected panels would be possible if it wasn't silver which, even if you have the original formula, is virtually impossible to match. A full repaint would require restoring the graphics and that's just beyond my abilities. If anyone wants to take a stab at it, just pay the shipping and it's yours.

Whew, far beyond my capabilities ! Maybe if it gets too bad, just re-painting it as a standard convertible (sans special graphics) in a typical Pontiac color might work. Maybe a hue an aftermarket restorer might use to have a cruise-night type driver.
Or, use it in a "barn-find" diorama in some manner. (just make sure you can get the diorama through the door !)

Another GM brand that should not have met its demise, Pontiac in so many ways out did Chevrolet when it came to shared platforms as Pontiac designers really did a fantastic job. RIP Pontiac.Â
I miss my 1997 Pontiac Formula WS-6 Ram Air package, Pontiac only made about 526 of them and from data I researched the one I had was one of only about 6 with the options it had. That is one car I should have kept. The Formula had cleaner body lines overall then did the Trans Am.Â
