This beast was the automotive equivalent of the aeronautical "Tail Dragger". Quite the statement back in the day, but "Sparky" was not built for sloping driveways or lot entrances.
Absolutely fantastic. I LOVE the color combo!
Great land yacht, Chris, and you found one longer than the 1967 Coupe de Ville - by 3.1 inches.
@gdh Exactly right! A 1958 Buick limited was (is ) even longer than my '59 Cadillac CDV by 2" - unreal right?
Now, here's the crazy part.....
My Autoart '59 Cadillac is under-scaled by a hair.... it's just shy of 12.5" (1/18 scale 225.0" ) but when compared to the Sunstar Limited, the Buick is shorter! IT SHOULD NOT BE SHORTER!
Both models are slightly under-scaled! 😬 😬 😬 😳 😳 😳
PS
At least 1/18 replicas of 1967 Cadillac CDVs exist; convertibles and limousine are also represented, but no SDVs. 😔 😔 I'd love to have a 1/18 '67 SDV (like my father owned ).
@perrone1 Yes sir, If I owned the real thing - I'd want this color combo! 😎 😎 😎
@chris I'd like to find a 1967 CDV in 1:24 or 1:18. I still wish I had the car, though it would be tough getting through the narrow streets of Europe. It would be a comfy ride, though, on the autobahn.
@gdh ...well, as we discussed before, BOS did release a 1/18 '67 CDV a few years back - looks pretty good too!
@chris Yes, but I'm not a fan of red on anything but a Ferrari, for the most part, and BOS only makes static models, as far as I can tell. I prefer models in that size to have moving parts.
@gdh ...me too, that's why I haven't yet purchased any 1/18 "sealed" (static ) models. Sadly, we'll probably NEVER see a 1/18 "full function" '67 Cadillac.
Although..... for many years, the only 1/18 1992-1996 Cadillac Fleetwoods available were sealed resins. Then, one day, out of nowhere, a Chinese manufacture stepped up with a beautiful 1/18 full function example. Of course I had to have it! 😎 😀
@chris That is impressive. Who was the maker (and please don't tell me Who was the shipper and Lee was the maker!)
@gdh They're known as "Dealer Edition;" they make hundreds of great 1/18 replicas. 👍 👍
@chris Thank you and I appreciate your avoidance of the 'Who's on First' schtik.
