I don't advertise it, but I have a passion for LAPD Police vehicles. There's just something about a basic "black & white" Police car that looks "right." I grew up watching Adam-12 and The Rookies. I suppose that had something to do with it.....
@chris - These are the only black and white cars I have and about as close as I ever want to be. Past interactions in the real world usually meant a traffic ticket! 😢
Is that the Blues Brothers' Dodge while still in service?
Rich,
Actually, no. It's the same make/model but no tie-in to the Blues Brothers. If I recall correctly, Ertl released authentic Police liveries first, then came all the BBs iterations. I bought this immediately upon release ("full function 4-dr B/W Police car" = must have). When all the BBs releases came, then The Dukes of Hazards.... I thought, "Oh, now I know why Ertl tooled these up." 😏 😏 😏

Marty,
Glad to see (and not surprising at all) that you took a pragmatic approach when dealing with this subject matter. 😌 😌
@rich-sufficool Wow, a Mazda Cosmo police car. I friend has a Cosmo and when he got it I asked if he had taken a job with the Post Office. A rare car and all were built with RHD.
A lot of excellent police cars shown here ! I had the excellent Ertl 1/18 Blues Brothers 1974 4-door Dodge Monaco police car from the movie, but I changed it into a regular 1974 Dodge Royal Monaco I'm a deep green color.
I have ~1982 Ford Crown Victoria police car in about 1/42 scale, but I also made that one into a vinyl-top full-size Ford.
