...created a few 1/18 scale diecast models using GEMINI. For some reason my '66 Mercury Parklane convertible (that I actually owned ) came out a bit janky. And GEMINI had issues with the ADAM-12 1968 Plymouth. But our current modern cars and this 1/18 WW II 1941 Ford staff car came out just fine. Crazy! 😬 😬 😬
With a bit more persistence, better results can be achieved. Here's a much improved "ADAM-12" and, for fun, another Ford hauler and a load of 1960 Oldsmobiles. 😀 😀
Janky or not; these came out fantastic!!
@perrone1 Thanks Tony. Here's a bit more fun, only this time I uploaded an actual photo for reference.
- Here's the actual photo.
- What I actually created in 1/18 scale years ago.
- What Gemini just produced (a 1/18 model ) in 5 seconds.
- Wow-wee, right! 😀 😆
OK, that second set is SCARY!
@paul-rouffa HA! Even more fun Paul...
Here's a few cars I own or have owned ALL expressed as 1/18 diecasts. For some inexplicable reason, GEMINI has repeated problems (as you can see ) with "1966 Mercury Park Lane convertible" despite how many actual 1:1 photos I upload. 🤔 🤔 🤔
@jack-dodds Thank you Jack, it's a very special part of my collection. I'd like to do another... ... one day. 🙄 🤨
"How do you upload a photo to Gemini?"
Yes indeed Paul, certain commands & searching seem to give Gemini issues, uploading actual photos helps. To do that, simply click on the "+" sign located on the lower left, inside the "Ask Gemini rectangle command space." It will then prompt you to "Upload files or Add from Drive."
HINT: When duplicating specific 1:1 vehicles, it's best to use 2-4 pics (if possible ). HAVE FUN! 😀 😎
@paul-rouffa Yeah (sigh 😔 😔) Gemini just doesn't want to either create properly or reveal entirely a 1968 Buick (you'll note my '68 Skylark above ) despite repeated attempts. This is the best I could do utilizing these photos. 🤔 🤔
@chris Please excuse my ignorance Chris, but what happens after you get an image you like. Does Gemini produce the model and what does it cost?
1) Not all Gemini images are acceptable, for reasons unknown (to me anyway ) the software has difficulty reproducing certain images despite specific uploads and accurate references. There's some truth in Tony's Buick/tank post! 🤨 🤨
2) For basic use, Gemini is 100% free. That means pinheads, like me, can generate 5-12 images (depending on detail level, colors, etc. ) per day. Once that limit is reached, the service is terminated but re-activates again (for free ) the following day, and so on.
3) With these images, actual 1:1 photos, and dimensions, CAD software could be developed to facilitate 3-D resin or metal models. However, that - at least for now - is above my paygrade.
4) All I'm doing is generating pics, albeit some more realistically than others. For instance, despite repeated attempts using quality 1:1 photos, Gemini just can't reproduce even a decent 1/18 model of YOUR car.
This is the best I can do: 😫
What am I doing wrong? I wanted a Buick WILDCAT and got this instead:

Sure, you wanted a Wildcat, but did you ask for one?
