Years ago, I went to an annual model show (NNL East) and went by one table that featured a 1/12 Ford GT40 Mkll. Behind it, I noticed a model that was still in its lower clamshell. It looked like this:
It looked like a Jaguar, but unlike one I had ever seen. With only a limited amount of Benjamins in my wallet, I decided to check the rest of the vendors and photograph all the models on display. The whole time, the above image was burning a hole in my brain and as I was leaving the show, I froze with the thought "If I don't buy that model, it's going to haunt me forever". So I went back, pulled the trigger, and have been happy ever since that I listened to my inner voice. What reminded me of this XJ13 model was the recent thread that bemoaned those classic Malcolm Sayer/ Abbey Panels designs giving way to boring wind tunnel/CAD current designs. And this XJ13 is arguably one of his masterpieces.
What an amazing car. I've never heard of an XJ13, so a very big thank-you for posting.

So, this Jag is 1/18 or 1/12? I can see why you love it Rich.
Who made it Rich? I presume 1/18th? That's one long, lean Jaguar!
I've said it before: If I could only keep one model, this would be it.
If I could only keep one model, this would be it.
Really? 🤔 🤔 What exactly do you guys love about this Jag? Yes of course, it's sleek & smooth, powerful .... but is it really that much?
@chris It's a superlative model, especially for what I paid for it, and I personally find it to be a beautiful car.
@chris As rough as it looks for a dedicated Le Mans entry and basically a test bed for their V12, there's a certain sculptural beauty to this car even with its guts hanging out... or maybe because of it.
at its release, it was one of AutoArt's best models. It is one I really regret missing out on.
That was a wise decision to return and buy the model! I'm genuinely envious, and I truly wish I had this model in my collection. I love it!
@marty-johnson It was worth for only the 2 hour ride home instead of cursing and kicking myself in the ass, I went home with a big smile on my face. LOL
