This AMG Mercedes CLK CTR GT1 is one of two race cars in "Original-Teile" (original parts} livery raced in the 1998 FIA GT Championship circuit. They raced for Team Persson Motorsport This #12 car by Maisto was driven by Marcel Tiemann. AUTOart did the #11 car. For homologation, 25 street legal cars were built and now go for up to $5 million. Their 6.7 liter V12 engines produce well over 600 HP. The factory AMG Mercedes CLKs virtually swept all the events and Marcel Tiemann placed 6th overall. I bought this Maisto for the unusual livery and I must say, with a few paint over the shiny plastic tubing and overly shiny exhaust headers, you really have to look hard to see how it differs from the AUTOart. These "Original-Teile" models seemed to be "must-haves" for collectors with the Aa model NIB now going for over $500. Personally. I'm happy with my Maisto. The livery is exceptional.

Agreed. Modern methods for applying paint on mass-produced scale models is genuinely impressive.
Well, just another model of yours I've never seen before - or - maybe I have but just passed by it. It sure doesn't look like a cheapy. 😏
This one is really impressive for a Maisto. Love it.
I agree with Chris, nice model. My biggest complaint with Maisto and Bburago models is all the chrome they use in race cars that usually don't have car show quality engine components or exhaust systems. Nice job with the extra detailing.
@old-caddys I agree. These pics are a bone stock model. Nothing was touched up on it. So, yeah, chromed headers and the pedal rack definitely need subduing.
