That was the sage advice given to Dustin Hoffman at his graduation party. Almost as famous as the 1967 movie was was his little Pininfarina styled Alfa Romeo 1600 Veloce Spyder. It was given the nickname "Duetto" from a 'name that car' contest, but Alfa wasn't allowed to use that officially as a brand because they were sued by a candy company that used the same name for one of their products. Hoffman's character lived within an upper middle class bubble, and, to me, it seemed like a pretentious 'sissy car'. I mean, hell, get a GTO or a 442, for crying out loud. I mean, a 1.6 liter engine?!?!. I have to say over the years, I've learned to appreciate what it was, but it is still another exotic import I couldn't fit into anyway. Hoffman is a dwarfish 5'5" and even he was spilling out of it. This AUTOart came to me as a review piece in white rather than the red movie car. It's a well done model up to their standards back then.
A very well done model but like Rich it was never a car that captured my imagination - no matter the color.
If we are talking Alfa Romeo I always felt they had to be in red
And with a bit more sex appeal like this 1967 T33 Stradle
Nice car...given the choice I prefer the Alfa Romeo 1600 Giulia Spider Veloce.

I want the white one..
Nope, still have deep feelings for that white one..
@franklemire I am with you, so you are not standing alone.
I love this little model Rich - great pics too!
Rich, if that’s the window crank, which looks a bit large, it appears to be a knuckle scrapper being so close to the rocker support. 😂
