Breathe deep the gathering gloom

Watch lights fade from every room

Bedsitter people sit back and lament

Another day's useless energry's spent

Impassioned lovers wrestle as one

Lonely man cries for love and has none

New mother picks up and suckles her son

Senior citizens wish they were young

Cold-hearted orb that rules the night

Removes the colors from our sight

Red is grey and yellow white

But we decide which is right

And which is an illusion ...........

Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin

We've already said
"Goodbye"
Since you've got to go
Oh, you'd better go now (go now, go now)
Go now, ooh (before you see me cry)
I don't want you to tell me just what you intend to do now
'Cause how many times do I have to tell you, darling, darling
I'm still in love with you, now? Whoa
We've already said
"So long"
I don't wanna see you go
Oh, you'd better go now (go now, go now)
Go now, ooh (don't you even try)
Telling me that you really don't want me to end this way-ay
'Cause darling, darling
Can't you see I want you to stay? Yeah, yeah
Since you've got to go
Oh, you had better go now (go now, go now)
Go now, ooh (before you see me cry)
I don't want you to tell me just what you intend to do now
'Cause how many times do I have to tell you, darling, darling
I'm still in love, still in love with you now?
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
I don't wanna see you go
But, darling, you'd better go now

@chris So many awesome songs performed by The Moody Blues.........this is one of my favorites; I love the pace of it.  Hey....and their drummer Nick Mason is a car guy!  Lol.

Nicholas Berkeley Mason is an English drummer and a founder member of the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. He has been the only constant member since the band's formation in 1964, and the only member to appear on every Pink Floyd album.

Ain't it amazing what you can turn a 1950 Chevy discussion into?    Wink

Yep, nothing like it.  I've been lucky enough to ride on a few but have seen and been in MANY.   Unfortunately, I do NOT have any pics of all my N-scale steam locomotives handy - unlike Rich... who has everything on file, microfiche, memory sticks, or hard-drives.    😏 😏

@chris HA!

Hey; you do pretty darn well!! Love those steam monsters, but hey, we live <1 mile up the hill from our CSX crossing and love hearing that diesel horn almost as much as the steam whistle!

@perrone1 I love the sound of trains in the distance; especially late in the evening.

@chris I have several steam locomotives in my N scale collection. My favorites are the UP Big Boy and Challenger. Even in N scale these are imposing models.

Oh, a Western railfan I see....   I'm strictly East, about 80% Pennsylvania, 15% B&O, and 5% Lehigh Valley.  I have almost every mode of Pennsy power employed in 1956 represented in N-scale and I did fabricate an articulating B&O 2-8-8-4 steam engine decades ago - not quite a Big Boy, but big.

The next time I dig all that "stuff"  out, I'll post some pics.    Hell, even I haven't seen any of my RR collection in at least 15 years!  Yikes!   😬 😬 😬 😬
