This is a very earlier Yat Ming 1/18 diecast model of the great-looking 1958 Cadillac Eldorado in convertible form. I believe they also did a 2-door hardtop coupe version of this one, too.

It displays really well and, although the trunk opens, that area is not really finished out. The sparkling blue exterior color certainly is eye-catching and you can't beat the overall subject matter done by YM here.

Mike, you made this Yat-minger  look about as good as possible, nice pics.  I passed on this one years ago (even when they were $5.00 ) ...it's just a bit too crude for me.  Though, this convertible does look a bit better than the hardtop version.

Stamp's 1/43 release is vastly superior.

This early Yat Ming is in 1/18 scale and I have a Matchbox 1958 Cadillac sedan in about 1/87 scale or so, too.

Lol, I know if I was waiting for someone else to do one of the beautiful 1958 Cadillac Eldorado convertible diecast models in 1/18 scale, I would still be waiting. Perhaps one is scheduled to be done by someone in 1/18 in June, 2038 !

@michaeldetorrice I know you're being a bit facetious, but I too was hoping we'd see a better '58 Cadillac.  We came close with BOS & Sunstar.   I even thought of taking that '58 Yat-minger  and combining with Sunstar's  '58 Buick, since they share some body panels, but....

The YM has been in my collection for ever. The proportions are excellent while the details are minimal.

@marty-johnson  Yep!  I forgot about that one... probably the best replica of a '57, '58 Seville.   😎 😎

Every model ever built could likely be criticized, rightly or wrongly, on some item seen on line and in pictures. Bringing in other scales and/or materials is a bit disingenuous and opens up a Pandoras box.

Probably all replicas ever built may look like they have tires inflated to 350 lbs per square inch, but that's not really the point unless you are a "tire guy". Wink

And as we know, photographs NEVER lie or possibly are misleading (intentionally or unintentionally), so all final judgements made viewing something online, on any unknown device with unknown eyes in an unknown environment and using pictures of a supposed real car taken 75 years ago must be completely correct ...... umm, right ? Smile

@michaeldetorrice - Not only are we collectors, but we're car guys, too!  We have a more discriminating eye than the average layperson.  Honest critiques of models, praises and shortcomings, should be okay.

Right?  It's really awesome for 1/43 but Marty's 1/24 (one I forgot ) is even better.  😎    If one wants a '57/'58 Eldorado-Seville, DM is the way to go, obviously that 1/18 Yat-minger  is not.

I'm thinking that '58 "Cadillac"  was among the first 1/18 diecasts Yat-Ming/Road Signature  released (25-30 years ago?? ).  Thankfully, they improved!  😀
