This is a big 1963 Cadillac convertible, done here in 1/18 model form by Jada as a movie car from the film "Scarface" starring Al Pacino. It features some custom details from the real movie car, like a custom interior, chromed engine detail, etc., but they could be modified (or photographed) so they aren't a real factor, if a more standard Cadillac is desired.

It was not expensive and included the Tony Montana figure who is very nicely modeled here, too. The 1963 Cadillac is a giant and good-looking car, so this is a good way to collect one. I have a 1963 hardtop (in a somewhat custom form ) which was done very nicely by Jada, too, which I will show in another post sometime.

Fabulous showroom interior, advertising backdrop, and photographs, generally.

I had high hopes for this model, thinking I could return it to a factory-stock appearance. Knowing that X-frames were still being used in '63 I started by pirating Maisto's 1959 Cadillac X-frame chassis.  Once other dimensions were calculated, however, I quickly realized that I was over my head. Far too many other issues deemed this project "abandoned."

Thanks !1963 Cadillacs were big, good-looking cars are this was a nice and acceptable (and not expensive) way to enjoy one in my collection. If I wait for a manuafcturer to do one in  1/18th in diecast or resin it may take a VERY long time and/or be understandably quite expensive Eek

For Jada, they wanted to do the "Scarface" movie car and they did that, along with Tony Montana, quite nicely. With a re-do of the interior, this one is even more like a giant '63 Cadillac convertible, and, of course, one can photograph this one to already look like a more stock Cad.

It looks beautifully done and in a great color ! I have no problem with either 4-doors or sealed or resin because it is such an attractive (and huge) automobile. I have had my "Jada" 1963 Cadillac since 2005 and although apparently this one was done by BoS in 2018 in a very limited edition, and original list price was a bit above my normal price range, used examples seem to be in excellent condition.

BoS has done many wonderful sealed resin cars over the years and this Cadillac seems no exception. Now, if only they also did Tony Montana in 1/18th, lol !
