This 1/18 replica is from Ertl's "Body Shop" series in which you put together the pre-painted automobile yourself. You save a bit on initial cost and end up with a nice model.

I always liked the coke bottle shape of this generation Chevelle with its styling cues from the '65 Impala. Here's a 450HP '69 Yenko.

All nice, but my two favorites are the '66 & '70.  The WORST Chevelle model EVER created was by Motormax. Their 1/18 TOY version is ridiculous!  I mean, why bother?

My 1969 Chevell 427 Yenko by Auto World, one thing that could have been done better on this car was the stance, it sits much to high and looks like it has a 4x4 lift on it, Auto World could also have used more realistic hinges for the doors, hood and truck instead of the dog leg hinges. Out side of those issues this is a nice looking car.

@john3976 The dog leg hinges are due to the age of the tooling... 30 year old ERTL refined over the years with some minor upgrades.

Well at least it has an opening trunk and you can always use it for spare parts. To me that's a plus especially the spare parts.

I like those 'Body Shop' models cuz they gave you a chance to do some customizing without having to disassemble the model.

They were very nice and with a pre-painted body, it avoided the painting aspect which could be tricky to get right and in the correct conditions.
