Nice ones ! I think in the last year of the Impala SS (1996 ?) you could get a color other than the black finish, and the cobalt blue and perhaps other exterior colors were available, I think. All these Impala SS automobiles looked great to me in any color.... as 1:1 or 1:18 cars.

...there were only 3 color choices for '95 & '96 Impala SS sedans: black, dark red, or green-silver- the color of my friend's.   In 1994, only black was available.   What I didn't realize, until just 2 minutes ago, is that these cars were only produced from 1994-'96 - just 3 years.      I would bet $100 it was longer.    😲 😲 😲

I drove the police version of both of these cars (Chev and Ford that is) and found the Chev to handle and perform better at high speeds.  Just based on looks I much prefer the look of the Mercury shown though.

@jack-dodds IMO, Chevrolet butchered their initial 1991 design with their reshaped rear wheel openings just a few years later.   I remember seeing the all-new '91 Caprice at an auto show and was blown away!    I thought it looked great - for a 4-door.

@chris LOL.....I feel the exact opposite Chris; I was much happier about the car when GM redid the arches, being a big fan of the old square Chevy look.  I recall that when we went to the new design for patrol cars the response from the public was clear.....they were considered strange looking.  The "tubby" look never has appealed to me at all.  The local newspaper actually did a story on them, calling them spacelike and futuristic...lol.  Many older car guys made Nash and Hudson comments about them at the time.

@jack-dodds That's funny.....  Chevy's new  Caprice was, of course, their response to Ford's wildly successful Tarus/Sable sedans - hence Caprice's rear-wheel-openings.

I will always love the 1991 Chevy Caprice - to my knowledge, there are none in 1/18, and only a few in other scales.   Perhaps I could fabricate one..... 😀 😀 😀

@jack-dodds Yep, very nice...   but of course, the cream of the crop was - of course - the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham; the very last traditional  Cadillac.
