One thing that is great about automobiles in general and diecast cars that model them in particular, are the various engines that power them, shown in these photos in replica form. Here are a few :
nice sneaking up shots .....how `bout firin` a couple of those bad boys up Mike?
Lol, thanks, John ! I would love to fire up those eights (and a sixteen), yet I am afraid the Earth's spin axis may be affected if they were all on at once !
@mikedetorrice ....who among us does not read that sort of a statement without making big engine WUB WUB WUB WUB noises just beneath a volume level that would scare the cat 🤨

I've recently been notified by the California air resources board known as CARB that these models will be restricted because of the pollutant levels they're putting out....
Yep folks Jesus Christ Lord our Savior I wish I had enough money so I could leave here....

I have a suggestion for CARB, too. I wonder if they can figure out what that suggestion is ? It is only two words long ..........
The U.K. used - when sensible minds prevailed - to have clauses in any such legislation that stated anything more than .... however many years old ... would be exempt from certain legislation. How many 300 Letter cars are seriously clogging-up California's highways, spewing leaden fumes? And who, seriously needs a shock absorbing bumper on their 1912 Silver Ghost, or seatbelts in their Panhard et Levassor, in case they do themselves in, racing a 1910 Darracq ?
Wow, excellent ! Probably better than I might do now days, as those pictures were taken many years ago. The first picture may be a black Yat Ming 1960 Chrysler 300, with also the white one in there, too. So, I think that may be the cross-ram engine ? Possibly a 413 ?
I wish DeSoto would have somehow stuck around as the S-Series cars were really interesting from Chrysler Corp. I also wish DeSoto would have made an Adventurer for 1961 and they would have had that one at the end.
I think Yat Ming may actually called their really nice 1/18 1961 DeSoto an Adventurer (?), although I heard that (officially) they didn't make an Adventurer for 1961.
Yep! You're right.... I goofed (I know better... I have two '61 Desotos ). That 1st pic is NOT Yatming's 1961 Desoto.
Everything I read in books & online confirms "Adventurer" was used through the end of Desoto production in 1961 but only two hardtops were offered (2 & 4 door ).
