Here are a couple more 1/18 engines. In this case, Mustang V-8 engines : (1) A Shelby Collectibles 1967 GT-500 and a (2) Shelby Collectibles 1966 Ford GT-350.

@charles-rockett - Older cars are exempt from the most aggressive smog regulations here in California, as well.  That's a fact.  However, I would be remiss if I didn't point out that I thank CARB and the EPA for the mandated restrictions.  Just twenty years ago, it was a rare day to see landmarks like the Hollywood Sign, Griffith Observatory, downtown Los Angeles, or the Santa Monica mountains.  Due to the aggressive efforts of CARB and the EPA, currently, those landmarks are easily seen as the air quality in So Cal has dramatically improved.  The brown cloud that routinely blanketed the LA basin, is gone!  Our air is vastly improved and the difference is literally like night and day.

Marty, you are preaching to the already converted. I am in full agreement with you and it is good that as a part of these measures, the value of historically important vehicles is taken into consideration. Not least of all, because they are not often taken on the roads.  I've worked a couple of times in Guangzhou and the smog there, where one might not even see the tops of a bridge's pylons, when crossing it, had to be seen to be believed. If you'll excuse the irony.

The most dramatic American V8 engine representation I've ever seen is the Danbury Mint 1:12 Mustang.

That one looks great ! Astounding engine details and at 1/1 or 1/12 scale, a really amazing sight. Somehow, I don't  imagine the Stanley Steamer or a Baker Electric automobile motors would have the same impact or be as impressive ! Smile
