PICS - Thanks Rich Sufficool for giving me an excuse to post pics of my S&M "Baccaruda."

I say thanks to Rich because he posted photos of the Hurst Hemi Under Glass Barracuda and I used it to create the Sox & Martin '66 funny car.

First, a little Photoshop work to get an idea what's going to be involved to produce the altered wheelbase and the stretched nose.

Why the duct tape? Ahhhh! A lesson learned from my first stretch nose car, the Gas Ronda Mustang. During the modification phase, due to all of the metal being cut away from the body, the structure was tweaked and the doors wouldn't line up. I was afraid to try twisting the model back into the proper alignment because I feared the JB Weld and Bondo would crack. So, instead of ruining all my hard work, I decided to seal the doors shut and take that lesson into future builds. After that "tweaking" experience I applied duct tape to give the body more rigidity. It's worked as my future projects did not suffer the same fate as my Gas Ronda longnose Mustang.

I was very happy with the "headlight" modification.

The bumper was an important modification. The 1:1 has a molded fiberglass front clip. The bumper was included in the mold. The model, which replicated the factory car has too much protrusion and sticks out too far. I need to section it so that it was much closer to the front end and didn't stick out as much.
