No Brits were involved in the design and execution of the Ford GT40 MklV ( Ford's Kar Kraft Division). The engine was pure Ford 427 cid V8, the tires were Goodyear and all the drivers ( Andretti, Gurney and McLaren) were American. This MklV has the distinction of being the only All American winner at Le Mans (1967). The all new, streamlined car was only run in two races. It first entered the '67 Sebring with Andretti and McLaren winning which helped to ameliorate the humiliating 1-2-3 Ferrari win at Daytona. The MklVs were much heavier than their predecessors with their heavy roll cage employed after Ken Miles' death during testing but the streamlined body allowed speeds that included 212 mph on the Mulsanne Straight. This Exoto model is finished in Standox Chromillusion Kyalami Flash.

@paul-rouffa McLaren won Sebring, not Le Mans.

1967 Le Mans winners were Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt in the number 1 Ford GT40 MK IV. If I am remember correctly Mario Andretti crashed out of the 1967 Le Mans race and it is said the addition of a full roll cage saved his life in that crash.

Carrol Shelby told Dan Gurney not to push the car too hard because A.J. Foyt would go out and push it harder and Corral Shelby knew that would end up being a disaster, so Dan Gurney was very measured when he would drive the car and by doing that it kept A.J. Foyt measured as well. It worked as Gurney and Foyt won the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans.
