Jada's 1940 Cadillac Series 75 "Godfather" sedan is your basic '2 foot model'. OK from a distance, but don't expect too much from it. It was a low end model more of a toy to be sold at big box toy stores rather than for a discerning collector. I got rid of the more toy-like look by merely blackwashing he frill and the adjacent waterfalls. This first run model came with a really well done pug nosed gunsel menacingly reaching for his pistol. In the back seat, however, is an awful looking seated Godfather figure that I found impossible to remove, but realizing the rest of the interior was nothing to write home about, I decided to let it be. The car itself, is, like I said, a 2 footer. Only the headlamps were modeled. The parking and tail lamps are painted. The front wheels are not poseable. The second run of this model replaced the gunsel with a standing figure of the Marlon Brando character which is as well done as the gunsel and the back seat is unoccupied. I forget what I paid for it. I think it was in the $30 range. I'm surprised how much people are asking for this on the secondary market. Perhaps this model has achieved a cult status. Or, maybe it looks a lot better in the pictures than it actually is. And, I have to say, it looks pretty cool in my pics, so....
BTW: For those who care, and you know who you are, the trunk does open but it's devoid of any carpeting or spare, so I didn't bother to shoot it.
I have this same first run 1940 Cadillac limo from Jada that features the "Godfather" theme, and it is a favorite that was available at several places at quite a low cost, considering one also got some nicely-done 1/18 scale figures along with the Cadillac.
It makes a good combination with the other late '30's scale Cadillacs (and Packards) I have from this time. One can imagine the prestige back then from driving around in one of the real 1:1 automobiles !
Ha! You hinted at who that “collector / customizer” is without mentioning ANY names. 😎

GREAT Model, GREATER photos!! Did that figure of 'Bada Bing Bruno' come with the model? Is that a heater in his jacket or a subpoena?

A - Ditto! I paid c.$25 for this "toy" many years ago; I like the two figures but have NO idea who that back seat guy was supposed to be. LoL 😀 😀 😀 Like you, I'm SHOCKED to see what this "toy" fetches today. Unreal! 😳 🤪
B - Yes, I'm "that one who cares." 😀 😀 LSS: Despite being a toy, the basics are sound AND, more importantly, it's in scale! My intention was (is) to one day replace that entire JADA rolling chassis with a Signature 1938 Cadillac rolling chassis, then enhance the interior, including that trunk - TO THE MAX! I will also blackout the "too shiny" wheels on the '38 Cadillac chassis to better match those of a 1940 Cadillac.
Nice post Rich. 👍
1) No carpet in trunk makes it easier to “clean up” any mess.
2) I’m sure that trunk is large enough for at least three “spare tires” plus a bag or two of cement mix to maintain traction on icy turnpikes.
@100ford2003 Lol....my thoughts as well Steve....and add a shovel and a bag of lime.
Have it, accept it for what it is.
From where I'm sitting it appears acceptable. Thanks Rich for the pics and write-up.

@chris Unwanted reflections. Sometimes I'll actually have my face in there.
@rich-sufficool As if we didn't want to see your smiling face---LOL Truth is I often find imperfections and even loose or missing pieces when I photograph a model that I didn't notice while it was sitting on display - including unwanted dust particles and MY smiling face!
@rich-sufficool As I suspected, I mean..... I knew it wasn't rust. 😀 😀
