I've never really been a fan of cars from the 20s-40s. I did at one time though have quite a few of the Anson and Signature models of Duesenberg's, Packard's & Cadillacs. I just couldn't resist how beautiful those models are.

Predictably, it was  Cobra Daytona Coupe -  now I have a case full of them

Wait a minute Frank, your very first 1/18 diecast replica was an Exoto?   Whew! 😬 😯  Must be nice to start at the top...  😏 😏 🤔

A Volkswagen Beetle, maybe made by Solido, Burgundy in color with a black fabric (plastic) and a tan interior. I purchased this about 1995 from a local hobby store. I hid buy Mattel Hot Wheels cars in the 1960'a as a kid though.

@chris actually my first was a Yat Ming - after I bought it i went on line to see if I could buy an FIA spec 289 roadster to go with it and I ran across Exoto. I fairly quickly transformed that poorly shaped first car into the Willment Coupe

Not my finest work but it was my first time out doing modifications and I didn't really know what I was doing. My second diecast was indeed an Exoto and there was no turning back from there.

Interestingly, I'm still looking for that FIA spec roadster in 1:18 - I do have three in 1:12
