A Model Dose... Monday 3/30/26

The introduction of the '63 C2 Corvette was a big styling change from the previous generation. The split window style of the of the 1st coupe has now become iconic and was only featured for the '63 model year. With the '63 model, it became the Corvette Sting Ray which lasted through the 1976 model year. 

My 1st 1:24 scale Precision diecast model was FMs 1963 Chevrolet Corvette in Riverside Red. It has never been a model that I was very thrilled with. For me, it has always been somewhat crude. In late 1998 FM introduced a new model of the '63 Corvette, it was part of a series of models crafted in "Fiberglass" or resin. Whatever they were, the model far excelled anything FM had issued thus far. The 1st was in Sebring Silver, and unfortunately, it's the only one of the couple colors issued that I bought.

For whatever reason, my database does not have any photos of the 1st Corvette model in red. It's still packed away so I guess I'll have to change that. 

In 2010, the Diecast Collector's Club D4C issued and was the 10th model in the series. LECC X. The Harley Earl Custom Corvette. LE 1 of 733.
