TODAY was a banner day for me! This INCREDIBLE Danbury Mint '55 Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible repainted by our mutual Diecast Forum friend Pete Rovero is now in my collection. After Pete shared his outstanding work a week or so back, he and I worked out a deal, and the model is now mine! I couldn't be more excited, and let me say that the car is even more beautiful than the photos Pete took of it. It's no secret here on the Forum that I am a huge Oldsmobile lover, and adding this gorgeous '55 to my collection just made my day! THANK YOU so much Pete!!!

Congratulations George. You now own a masterpiece. Now I wonder if Pete will sell me the 62 Thunderbird Sports Roadster he did in Castillion Gold?

Doesn't hurt to ask him Bob. I found Pete to be an outstanding guy to deal with. The care he took in protecting the model when he sent it to me is something that I applaud him for. The car is beyond words, a MASTERPIECE! My wife was at our kitchen table with me when I opened it, and she too, was in awe. Pete's workmanship is absolutely perfection to the max! I couldn't be happier! Being the Oldsmobile lover I am, getting this model just put over the top today. THANKS AGAIN PETE!

Nice one to add to the collection.
Congratulations George. That is a beautiful color-perfect combination from the 50s, and one of my favorites.
That Olds couldn't go to a better home. I know you will display it proudly.

Thank you John! And indeed, I'm displaying it proudly. I just keep looking at it, as it is really an "in your face" color combination. And you're right, it's so 50's. I'm so grateful that Pete Rovero agreed to sell it to me.
