Cars of the 1950s...
1954 Studebaker Commander Starliner
pretty color combo
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Somebody has got to do this car. Love the color, too.
Beautiful car and color combo!! Seriously, DM NEEDS to make this one!!
Ed, It is a mystery to me why this car is not available in a mint grade diecast.
In 1953 there were three cars that blew everyone else away for looks; the Corvette, the Buick Skylark and the sleek Studebaker.
The Studebaker made everything else look very dated. An engine swap to a Cadillac V8 added a quick 100 CI and gobs of torque. A Studillac was an awesome car back in the early fifties.
I would welcome a '53 or '54 Studebaker and if DM were to continue their custom & hot rod theme, a "Studillac" would be a logical follow up.
MAKE A '53 or '54 STUDEBAKER!

Sadly...
It appears that the $200 it drew on the recent poll wasn't enough to encourage the manufacturers. Sigh.
I would buy this one!
Jim, Regardless of what the surveys show if some diecaster doesn't see the merits of making a '53 or '54 Studebaker...they just don't understand what many of us are looking for.
For several years now, every time someone suggests these Studebakers we all express our amazement that a landmark design like this has been overlooked so far.
Someday, someone in the mints will say "Hey, what about a '53 Studebaker?" and the response should be overwhelming.

However, not showing up on the wish list at all did not prevent TFM from producing the '71 Plymouth Road Runner. Go figure...
Pete, I believe Muscle Cars are personal favorites of the people who pick what to make.
But....they did do the '48 Buick, '52 Studebaker and '58 Packardbaker.
My only question was "Why on earth would someone choose to make a '52 Studebaker instead of the '53?"
Go figure...some more.
