OT, the radio news announced this morning.......
...that Daimler-Chrysler will bring out a new Charger this summer, roughly around the time the new Dukes of Hazzard movie comes out. It's supposed to have a 340 Hemi in it. Hope they do more like Ford did with the Mustang, and less like GM did with the GTO. Can't wait to see a photo posted!!!
I hope its not another Starky and Hutch Fiasco
You might as well get over the dissapointment now...*PIC*...

John.... True.... Disappoinment...
I was hoping something that could had matched the old nice General Lee... 🙁 :((
GTO and Mustang
We were talking about these last night. Bringing back the GTO is a problem as it never had a distinctive "look". It looked like whatever the Tempest of hte era looked like, because that was the way DeLorean and Wangers snuck it by GM management -- GM couldn't build an intermediate car with a big engine in iit, but they could offer it in an exisitng intermediate line (corporate logic is an oxymoron). Whille the origianls were nice looking cars, their real claim to fame was straight line performance, not styling.
Three sides of hte new Mustang lok great, but they blew the front end. The Mustang always had three very distinct elements to the front end - the grill, flanked by a pair of single, round headlights. On the new one, there is not enough distinctoin betwen these elements. Ford needs to create more isolation between the grill and headlighs.
I thought the new Dodge Magnum was ugly..
The Charger makes it look like a beauty queen!
What is it with Chrysler and the pick up truck noses that they love to put on passenger cars?
UGH!!!
If it looks like the 1999 show car but with a better grille, I'm up to buy one, I could use a new ca r
This is the best looking new car I have seen in a long long time.
I just love that quietly aggressive front end with its
obvious Ram/Dakota look about it. I also find the
fastback styling to be quite appealing. Does anybody
have a picture of the back? I just might have found my
next new ride!
charger looks great! They finally are getting rid of the grotesque cab forward look. Hope the fabulous styling trend of the Mustang, Charger and 300 continues. Good riddence to the jellybean suppository look.
As always, it's a matter of taste, I guess
I am VERY disappointed at the posted picture, at least the grille. I think the pickups and Dakotas are ugly for the same reason. Does whoever designs the styles at Diamler-Chrysler have all of their taste in their mouths? Do they HAVE to make every model the same? Some folks like it, I think it's fugly. But that's just my worthless opinion ... Thanks for the post, John!
Here you go Bob.....

Base power 250hp V6 with optional 340hp Hemi.
My pleasure Joel!
Thanks Jim!!
I suspect someone will come up with some swoopy hood scoops for the new Mustang and then it will remind me more of the older classic Mustangs and Shelby versions.
As for GTO, GM should bring that Australian "Maloo" car/pickup to the USA and restart the El Camino. That Maloo is the most exciting thing I've seen from GM is some time.

Dodge Charger design critique
Front view: looks like a Dakota truck
Rear view: looks like a Neon
Side view: looks like crap
SNOOZE-O-RAMA!!
Hey Daimler Design Department ("Chrysler" omitted intentionally), last one out turn off the lights, eh?
You might be able to go work for Chris Bangle at BMW making foreign cars ugly(er), leave the American muscle alone, please.
Of the new Mustang, GTO and Charger, only the Blue Oval boys have done their homework.
Just my dos pesos...
