That was my younger neighbors first car bought used in 1965 in terrific condition. As old as it was at the time, it was still a 'babe magnet'. LOL

I have it and like it too.  And I agree it looks good without the Connie, however that said, I've always felt that the '58 Chevy was one of the few cars that always looked good with the Connie Kit.  I think it was the classic reverse fins that made it look like it belonged.  What my real problem is with this "Black '58" version of this DM model is the "missing rear fender skirts".  For some reason without them, it makes the car (to my eyes) look short and stubby, and it seems to highlight the "spare tire" holder hanging down on the right rear side.  Now to the "top".  A nice touch that DM opted to include it on this version of their convertible, but (again to my eyes) I don't think it looks on the car.
