Tony, that is really elegant looking in that color combo 👍

I replaced my original maroon one with this outstanding dove gray version.  Beautiful!

+1 to all above!

DMs maroon version was my second or third DM model from Roy Rauch, around 25 years ago? I've since added FMs light blue version. But of course this is the best color of all!

I ordered this one from DM and it arrived with a broken rear bumper - it looked like somebody else's returned item. I sent it back and didn't get another one...sure wish I did, it's gorgeous in that color!

Great pictures!

Surprised to see the trunk has double hinges ... assuming the external hinges are not operational just a detail, they certainly look oversized if they are just a detail.

Great point Chav. I suspect the external hinges aren't strong enough to hold the trunk lid open so they added the normal internal struts as well.

Some  of the best pictures I have seen of a model car. You have hit a home run my friend.

@chav  For what its worth, the Maroon version also has similar trunk hinges.

FM did it successfully.

I think DM overcomplicated the hinge, it didn't work well and they salvaged the project by adding dog-leg hinges.

Another abandoned feature on the Thunderbird:
