Dust them

I'm good with that. I do the same with a few of mine. Go to the drug stores cosmetics dept and buy a soft make-up brush and dust them every week and you should be good to go.

That's what I do with the diecast cars displayed in my office. It's better than picking the little feathers out of it from the cleaning companies feather dusters.

Better in sight than packed away. Cosmetic brushes are indeed the answer

The intention to dust them regularly may be there, but before you know it you'll forget. Then long periods of time will go by with no dusting and they will be very dirty.

An attorney that I knew a few years back had his DM and FM cars displayed on a self (in his office) WITHOUT covers. From a distance the cars were eye catching, but when you got up close they were a mess.

Always made me sad. For what my opinion is worth, if they are worth the investment (whatever the amount was), they are worth being covered.

It depends if you are Virgo or not. I have three cars that are worth about $100 each that I have displayed in our kitchen for the last 7 years. They are dusty as hell, but look great in front of a diorama that is smaller than 1:24 scale (they are Franklin Mint trucks).

They are caked with dust, but I don't want to clean them yet. They somehow fit in with the diorama.

Now, I had over 240 cars displayed in cases. I did care about those.

The fun of owning these models is . . . well, owing them and doing whatever you want with them.

Talking of displaying is there a supplier of 1/43 cases. I have 3 Cars of The 50's display racks and would like to find display cases where I could fit three on each shelf. The MT shelves are really dusty and I would like to use them. I would even be interested in one long narrow case for each shelf where I could display 3 models

I had my daily driver, my wife's daily driver, also a 2007 Pontiac Solstice (bought new, now 12K miles) plus 2 antiques - the '60 Valiant, and a '55 Chrysler Windsor 2-dr. HT. All this with a one-car garage - I was renting 2 garages for the Valiant and the Solstice, and it was just too many registrations, state inspections, insurance cards, etc. to deal with. One car had to go and it was the Valiant 🙁
As far as displaying - they were bought so cheap as to not bother me if they get dusty at my office. I already have all of them in display cases at home so these are just duplicates anyway.
