@georgeschire Looks like there are 2 versions, I found listings on eBay with black/chrome and pink/chrome rims (I don't have the model).

Our fellow member Bob Jackman confirmed that there were 2 versions, and stated he has both of them.  I looked at my own car, and mine has the coral rims.  It's a beautiful car!

...I have a fascination with early auto a/c systems.

I passed on this issue because I believe the leading edge of the roof appears too high. A few others at that time felt as I did. I think the light colored roof contributes to this look.  I hoped DM would reissue this in solid black to eliminate the illusion and my wish came true. The black '56 is proudly parked in my display case.

Please excuse my glare filled pics

@jkuvakas

Yes. Looks like it was built to last 100 years doesn't it?

I worked 31 years in OEM parts departments (mostly Volvo, also Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Detroit Diesel/Allison). Reduced to their individual bits, even these modern, alleged high-line vehicles look like they were engineered to barely outlast the factory warranty.

But that's just me.

John
