Once again, I am totally underwhelmed.

First off, I must question their opening statement about being the World's Largest Private Mint. Do they even still 'mint' anything? As for leading in collectible items, they must have meant next to DM.

Oh joy! To celebrate GM's 100th anniversary we'll make - what else - a Corvette! Surely it couldn't be because it's the only thing they can sell anymore, or get a quick return on their minimal investment?

What a bunch of crap. The Husdon is the only bright spot - albeit overpriced.

Its a solid sterling silver 1:24 scale sculptural car...

very much like what FM would have done in the glory days of making high end luxury collectibles. I am totally thrilled with this one.

And its apples and oranges. Scale models are one thing..but sculpture autmobilia is another. Like the hood ornaments, pewter cars, pewter dioramas, and the precious metal cars...to me they all have a place in the enjoyment of automotive history and collecting.

Again-So What

We are all aware of ths cost of doing business and the fact that it is going up. What else is new? What is being said here is that many of us are tired of doing business with a company that wants to "give us the business"! Perhaps FM needs to change some of those dim bulbs in their management to see if they can come up with some bright ideas because, as of now, they haven't!

Frankly it just shows HOW OUT OF TOUCH they really are!

DM Took their business by offering superior product not higher prices for exclusivity. How stupid can one organization be. Oh Well I don't contribute to their bottom line anymore. DM got this years first quarter budget and then some with the Cadillac, 58 Panama Corvette, and Packard Hardtop. My wallet hurts for the time and surely there is no money for an overpriced Hudson.

The '36 Hudson does seem pricey..but the top up & down is unique as far as I know, and many of FM's new releases care definitely competitive with DM...but I am hooked on the '36 Hudson...just have to decide who I will buy it from.....

What is hot at BJ isn't necessarily what is hot in the diecast collectibles world.

I agree. I've never understood the gold, silver, sterling plated models.

But some collectors do like them.
